Horizon scan, innovation. Ataturk obstacle-free airport
Ataturk Airport, managed and operated by TAV Istanbul, received the “Obstacle-Free Airport” Certificate for its extensive work and effort on improving customer experience and airport navigation for impaired users. Rather than relying on predominantly technical solutions, a combined approach was taken: Braille surfaces, audio systems, physical improvements of general facilities, assistance points as well as extensive staff training, among others in sign language. All interventions were carried out under the aim of enabling passenger to navigate the airport independently.
